Fifth-ranked Perham jumped out to a big lead early to beat the Breckenridge Cowboys 64-43 on Friday.
The Yellowjackets led 41-14 at the half before the Cowboys cut the margin to as many as 15 points in the second half.
Tyson Piechowski and Adam Ohm each scored nine points to lead Breckenridge while Jonah Christensen was the top rebounder with six.
The Breckenridge Cowgirls dropped a 46-43 game to West Central Area on Friday.

The B-W Blades boys hockey team lost 5-2 at Red Lake Falls on Friday.
Isaac Wohlers scored both goals for the Blades while Jase Jensen, Carson Hought and Thomas Withuski each added an assist.
The Wahpeton Huskies went 2-4 this weekend at the Sertoma Wrestling Tournament in Grand Forks.
The Huskies lost 66-18 to Jamestown in the first round before beating Grand Forks Red River 45-24 in the first round on consolation action. Wahpeton then lost 42-30 to Turtle Mountain, beat Central Cass 42-36 and ended with a 51-26 loss to Stewartville, Minn.
For the Huskies in matches not involving a forfeit, Josh Krump went 5-0 either 220 or 286 with three pins and a technical fall win, Hunter Owens was 4-1 at 126 with four pins and Kaleb Mostoller went 3-1 at 145 with three pins.
The Breckenridge Cowboys placed 10th at the Barnesville Invitational on Saturday. The Cowboys scored 40 points as a team. Bertha-Hewitt-Verndale-Parkers Prairie won the team title with 192 points with Hibbing second at 155 and Fargo Davies third at 123.
For the Cowboys, Daniel Erlandson won the 220-pound title with three pins, including beating Fargo South’s Isaiah Gates in 3:11 in the title match. Aidan Ruddy went 1-2 at 145 to place fourth.
The Breckenridge-Wahpeton gymnastics team hosted a four-team invitational Friday at Three Rivers Gymnastics.
Valley City took first place with a score of 127.65 points with Breck-Wahp second with 127.225, Morris Area third at 117.175 and Sisseton fourth at 105.950.
For Breck-Wahp, Quinn Bassingthwaite placed first on the vault at 8.9 and beam at 8.95 and was second on the bars at 7.852 to place second all-around at 33.525.
Abbie Skovholt was second in vault at 8.8 and floor at 8.05 and finished fourth all-around 32.3. Hailee Hanson was third on vault at 8.7 and sixth on beam at 7.82 to place fifth all-around at 30.95. Anika Birkelo was third on the beam at 8.42.
Three Rivers Gymnastics competed in a USA Gymnastics Level 3 event this past weekend.
Piper Nelson placed third in the all-around with 33.85 points while Reese Hosford was eighth at 30.875. Both gymnasts qualified for the state meet with their finish.
Ellie Metz narrowly missed qualifying with a score of 29.75.
North Dakota State relied on its defense for a 9-3 win over Illinois State on Saturday in the quarterfinals of the FCS playoffs.
The top-seeded Bison won their 35th straight game overall and advanced to the FCS semifinals for a ninth straight season and will host Montana State in a semifinal game next Saturday at 1 p.m.
NDSU’s defense limited star Illinois State running back James Robinson to 94 yards on 24 carries while the offense scored all nine of its points in the first half on three field goals of 38, 33 and 22 yards.
Illinois State got as close as the NDSU 46-yard line late in the game.
In the NCAA Division II semifinals, Minnesota State-Mankato routed Slippery Rock 58-15 to reach the championship game. In the Division III semifinals, Wisconsin-White Water topped St. Johns 35-32
Dan Bailey kicked four field goals and Ifeadi Odenigbo scored Minnesota’s second defensive touchdown in three games on Sunday as the Vikings beat the Los Angeles Chargers 39-10.
Los Angeles led 10-9 midway through the second quarter before Minnesota scored 30 unanswered points. The Chargers committed seven turnovers, their most since 1986.
Mike Boone ran for two touchdowns in the fourth quarter and Kirk Cousins threw for 207 yards and a TD for the Vikings, 10-4 on the season, have won four of their last five to remain one game behind Green Bay for the NFC North lead. The Vikings and Packers meet next Monday night at U.S. Bank Stadium.
