No-travel advisory issued for Wilkin, Richland counties; I-29, I-94 now closed

Both Richland and Wilkin Counties have advised no travel in the area due to the winter storm.

Due to the blowing and drifting snow as well as new accumulations, it is not save for plow drivers to be on the roads currently.

Also, weather conditions will deteriote throughout the day and conditions will be extremely dangerous with icy roads and hazardous driving conditions throughout the day and evening.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation has also issued a no-travel advisory for most of the Red River Valley. In addition to Wahpeton, the advisory includes Fargo-Moorhead, Grand Forks, Linton, Jamestown, Valley City, Lisbon, Wyndmere, Lidgerwood, Hankinson, Dwight, Colfax and other cities in the valley.

The NDOT also announced around 8 a.m. that I-29 from the South Dakota border to the Canadian border and I-94 from Fargo to Bismarck are now closed.
