Vikings quickly turn attention to 49ers
One day after beating the New Orleans in the NFC playoffs, the Minnesota Vikings said Monday they’ve moved on to their next opponent, the top-seeded San Francisco 49ers.
Minnesota and San Francisco will play at 3:35 p.m. Saturday in a divisional round game. The Vikings are the only wild car winner to have to play on six days rest.
The Vikings may also be following the same path the 1987 team did in reaching the NFC championship. That year Minnesota won 44-10 at New Orleans before beating San Francisco 38-26 in the second round.
Minnesota hopes to have injured cornerback Mackenzie Alexander back this week.
