Thursday saw the first confirmed death of the coronavirus in Wilkin County while Richland County reported its first case of COVID-19.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said Thursday that 10 people died from the disease as of 2 p.m. Thursday, bringing the state’s total to 50. One of the deaths came from Wilkin County, which became the 11th county in the state to report a COVID-19 death.
Minnesota currently has 1,242 positive cases identified with 675 of those no longer in self isolation.
The N.D. Department of Health confirmed Thursday that Richland County had its first positive COVID-19 test, a woman in her 60s who contracted the disease through community spread.
North Dakota lists 269 positive tests, with 101 of those having recovered and fifth deaths.
