NDHP Saturation Patrols

The North Dakota Highway Patrol, Southeast Region, will conduct a check point in McIntosh County on Friday and a saturation patrol at an undisclosed location in McIntosh, Logan, and Stutsman counties, on Friday and Saturday.

North Dakota continues to experience tragic losses of life due to impaired driving. In 2011 there have been 44 fatal crashes resulting in 43 deaths statewide; of those crashes 14 have been alcohol related. The use of alcohol is the largest contributing factor in fatality crashes.

The Highway Patrol says the purpose of the saturation is to deter and detect impaired drivers, and remove them from our roadways.

Troopers will be out on days off and working overtime shifts during the saturation period.
