Stenehjem Funeral Scheduled for Monday

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - The funeral for North Dakota Senate Republican majority leader Bob Stenehjem will be held Monday.

Funeral director Mike Nathe says the funeral will start at 1 p.m. Monday on the fourth floor of Bismarck State College's National Energy Center of Excellence.

There will be a visitation Sunday afternoon in the Senate chambers of the North Dakota Capitol. Nathe says the visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday and last for two hours.

A reception will follow Stenehjem's funeral Monday, and he will be buried afterward in St. Mary's Cemetery in Bismarck.

Stenehjem was killed earlier this week in an SUV rollover accident in Alaska. He was there on a fishing trip.

He's been the Senate majority leader for a decade and a Bismarck state senator for almost 18 years.
