Some tense moments this morning south of Hankinson. The Richland County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call of a vehicle rolled over in a ditch submerged in water. Richland County Water Rescue and the Hankinson Fire Department also responded to the incident. After authorities searched the car and surrounding area, there was no indication of anyone at the scene. Richland County Sheriff, Larry Leshovsky, tells KBMW news that the vehicle was reported stolen and the driver of the vehicle who sustained minor injuries in the crash was later found in the city of Hankinson. Charges are pending as the investigation continues. The vehicle is a total loss.
