Another Stormy Night in the Valley
It was another Sunday night of stormy weather in the Southern Valley.
After the oppressive heat and humidity throughout the day with high temps in the 90’s and heat indices reading near 110 degrees, it was not a surprise to see strong storms rumble through last night.
Tornadoes tore through part of south-central ND. A farm house was severely damaged by a tornado west of Berlin in LaMoure County.
Straight line winds of 72 mph knocked down branches near Gwinner. Tree branches were also reported downed in Lidgerwood and Barney areas. A trained spotter reported to the National Weather Service that a tree crashed into a home in Lidgerwood. KBMW’s Juli Mauch reported about an inch of rain along with some hail in the Lidgerwood area. A peak wind gust of 58 mph was reported in Wahpeton as the storm came through shortly before 9.
Power outages were also reported in the Great Bend, Mantador, Lidgerwood, and Mooreton areas.
