Autopsy Likely on Stenehjem

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - The body of North Dakota Senate Republican majority leader Bob Stenehjem may undergo an autopsy to discover what killed him.

A spokesman for the Alaska health department says a blood sample will be taken to test for drugs and alcohol. Spokesman Greg Wilkinson says that's standard procedure in fatality crashes.

Stenehjem died in a vehicle rollover in Alaska on Monday when he was on a fishing trip. Stenehjem was driving.

Wilkinson says Stenehjem isn't likely to undergo an autopsy until Wednesday. He says the medical examiner will check his body, and if it's obvious he was killed by accident injuries, an autopsy may not be done.

Wilkinson says any autopsy results will not be public, but he says they could be disclosed by Alaska state troopers or Stenehjem's family.
