FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Moorhead-based American Crystal Sugar met with locked out union workers in North Dakota, but a union representative said no deal was reached.

Union president John Riskey said the company offered the same proposals as before
during Thursday's meeting.

About 1,300 workers were locked out of facilities August 1st in Minnesota, North Dakota and Iowa after the union's contract expired and workers rejected the company's offer.

Crystal Sugar is the largest beet sugar processor in the U.S. It had offered a 17 percent pay increase over five years during negotiations that began May 6th, but workers were upset about provisions covering job security and health care costs.

No further meetings have been scheduled.
