The Hankinson Fire Department responded to a fire at Hankinson Renewable Energy this morning.  The fire was contained to a 100’ by 50’bin.  Richland County Emergency Management Director, Brett Lambrecht, tells KBMW News that the silo will have to be emptied of the corn by-product after the fire is extinguished and once clearance is given from the state Health Department. There are potentially 700 tons of the by-products that was destroyed in the fire.
