A weekend apartment fire left one Wahpeton family temporarily displaced.
The fire, reported shortly after 8am on Saturday, was at the apartment complex at 1210 12th St. N. Upon arrival, authorities noticed smoke coming from the 3rd level of the apartment building.
Wahpeton Police Sargent Matthew Anderson, was one of the first to arrive on scene, and began evacuating the lower levels, as the Wahpeton Fire Department arrived.
The source of the fire was located in the kitchen area of apartment #22 on the 3rd floor, and it was determined to be an electrical fire.
Three people were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene. One family was temporarily displaced because of fire and smoke damage. The family was assisted by the Red Cross.
The Dwight Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
