FARGO, N.D. (AP) - A former flight attendant accused of setting fire to an airplane bathroom and forcing an emergency landing in Fargo says he will change his plea to guilty.
Eder Rojas, formerly of Woodbury, Minn., faces federal charges of setting fire aboard an aircraft and failure to appear. Authorities say the 22-year-old Rojas started a fire on a 2008 Compass Airlines flight from Minneapolis to Regina, Saskatchewan.
Rojas was a fugitive for nearly three years. He was arrested in Mexico in March.
Documents filed Wednesday show that the government would dismiss the failure to appear charge in exchange for a guilty plea on the original charge.
Rojas allegedly used a lighter to set fire to paper towels in the plane's bathroom because he was upset about having to work the route.
