An Oakes man died early Sunday morning from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident on his farm three miles west of Oakes.

According to Dickey County Sheriff Jim Bohannon, 87 year-old Henry Daniel Frojen was driving his pickup early Sunday morning, when he hit a hay grinder. Frojen then put his truck into reverse and upon doing so, fell partially out and was dragged by the truck as it was going downhill through a corn field.

A family member was able to eventually stop the truck, however, Frojen was pronounced dead shortly after emergency responders arrived.
