Police Searching for Sex Offender

Fargo Police are looking for a convicted sex offender who left a halfway house before completing his sentence.

Ellric Alfred Giroux II was living at Centre Inc. He left the facility Wednesday and hasn’t returned.

Born in 1978, Giroux was assessed as a moderate-risk sex offender after being convicted in 1998 of gross sexual imposition in Richland County.

Police say his victim was a female acquaintance under the age of 15.

Giroux is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 250 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. His last address was 906 12th St. N. in Fargo.

In 2008, Giroux was apprehended by U.S. Marshals after cutting off the ankle bracelet that probation officials used to monitor his whereabouts. At the time, Giroux was wanted for failing to register as a sex offender in Fargo.

He was one of 112 fugitives rounded up in North Dakota as part of Operation FALCON.
