The driver of an SUV that crashed into a beet truck early yesterday morning near Hunter is facing a DUI charge.

According to the ND Highway Patrol, 42 year-old Barry Grothmann was driving an SUV south on ND Highway 18, crossed the center line and ran into a semi hauling sugar beets.

The SUV suffered a lot of damage, the semi burned up in the crash and lost 75% of its load.

Grothmann was airlifted to Sanford Health, his condition has not been released.
