A convicted sex offender who escaped from a private transport company's van while being moved across the country was nabbed in a North Dakota corn field Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities say 29-year-old Joseph Megna was being transferred from Florida to Washington when he ran from the van during a stop west of Fargo on Tuesday.

He was spotted running into the field Wednesday morning, and farmers in combines worked with SWAT team members to flush him out.
