The city administrator of Valley City submitted his resignation to the Mayor and the city commission one day after the city voted to retain the position.
Jon Cameron says he felt it was in the best interest of the city and his family to leave the post following the summer-long dispute with the police chief that recently ended with an agreement under which the chief will retire and receive severance pay and benefits.
Cameron says he and his wife Joan will move on to other opportunities outside of Valley City.
