After deliberating for four and a half hours yesterday, a jury in Breckenridge found 46 year-old Jeffrey Silvernail of Wahpeton guilty of 1st degree murder.

Silvernail was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the murder of Lori Roberts of Doran.

The jury made up of 7 women and 5 men got the case early yesterday afternoon after closing arguments that lasted over 3 hours.

Silvernail was the last known person to see Roberts alive, and he also called authorities to report her death. Roberts was fatally shot in the chest and chin in the early hours of October 2nd, 2009.

Silvernail will begin serving his sentence immediately.
