FF High Risk Sex Offender
People who live near Junius Avenue in Fergus Falls say it's a relatively quiet and friendly area. But one home is making many of the neighbors uneasy.
33 year old Anthony Dale Randklev was convicted in 2008 of kidnapping, assault with a weapon and sexual assault. Police say the nature of his crime puts him at high risk of re-offending.
But Randklev is not the only criminal to live on Junius Avenue. The department of corrections uses a house there to place people who have just been released from jail. Many in the area are opposed to this.
Others in the neighborhood say they've been concerned about the house for a while and try to stay away from it, but police say having this house actually keeps the community safer.
The police department says with high supervision, people shouldn't have to worry.
Randklev will be released from prison on November 7th and start living on Junius Avenue immediately. He will be one of the almost 40 sex offenders living in Fergus Falls.
The Fergus Falls Police Department and the Department of Corrections will be holding a meeting about Randklev tonight at the Otter Tail County Government Services Center at 6 P.M.
