Commodity Councils

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Representatives of North Dakota's 12 commodity councils are meeting in Bismarck to discuss collaborative efforts to promote and market agricultural products.

Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring says they'll meet later Monday with representatives of other farm groups to hear from government officials and university extension staff.

Goehring says the 2009 Legislature mandated the annual joint meeting of the commodity councils. He'll serve as chairman for both meetings, which are open to the public.
