FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (AP) - A Fargo man is accused of transporting zebra mussels to a Minnesota lake on an infested boat lift.
Fifty-four-year-old George Wynn has been charged with a misdemeanor in Otter Tail County District Court.
Wynn is accused of moving a boat lift from Lake Lizzie, a lake infested with zebra mussels, to Rose Lake near Vergas.
Prosecutor Heather Brandborg says Wynn is not accused of introducing zebra mussels into Rose Lake but of transporting the invasive species.
A court appearance is set for Jan. 17.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources treated Rose Lake with chemicals this fall in an attempt to kill the zebra mussels, which were not at reproductive stage yet.
