More than 200 people gathered in Christine on Monday night to talk to an attorney about concerns with the federal buyout process involving the Red River Diversion.
The staging area of the diversion project is planned to store nearly 200-thousand acre-feet of water during severe floods. Those living upstream say that would destroy communities from Christine to Fargo.
Monday's meeting came after leaders from the Diversion Authority met in Fargo. Members talked about setting up a litigation fund to prepare for legal challenges from diversion opponents.
