Fairmount ATM Theft

Fargo, ND (KBMW News/AP) -- A South Dakota man was sentenced in federal court for stealing an ATM machine from Farmers Union Oil of the Southern Valley in Fairmount.
U.S. District Judge Ralph Erickson on Wednesday ordered Richard Wayne Boyd III to serve 4 months in prison and pay more than $9,000 in restitution. Boyd earlier pled guilty to bank robbery.
The ATM was stolen in March 2008 from the Fairmount store, and later found in a ditch in northeastern South Dakota. The machine was destroyed, and all the cash was taken out.
Two others had previously pled guilty to bank robbery in the case. Erik Wilson was sentenced to probation and time already served. Jerry Hillberg Jr. will be sentenced in February.
