Breckenridge, MN (KBMW News) -- Earlier in the week, the US Army Corps of Engineers increased the flow out of Lake Traverse, and began the drawdown of Orwell Dam in preparation of spring flooding. These drawdowns are beneficial in providing more storage space for runoff.

The deadline to have ice houses off area lakes and rivers in a majority of Minnesota is March 5th. You are reminded that failure to remove an ice house is a prosecutable offense. In North Dakota , the deadline to remove permanent ice houses is midnight on March 15th.
