Breckenridge, MN (KBMW News) -- With the melting conditions continuing, area rivers are continuing to climb.
The Red River at Wahpeton-Breckenridge has gone up over 9 feet. The Otter Tail, Rabbit, Bois De Sioux, and Mustinka Rivers have all slightly gone up in the past 24 hours.

Richels says the discharge from Lake Traverse until the Red River reaches 12 feet in Wahpeton-Breckenridge, and then the dam will be shut down, and water will be stored as long as possible. The levels at Orwell Dam have increased as well, and are being monitored closely as well.
Authorities are also closely monitoring the area rivers for any ice jams that may occur. Richels says they are keeping their eye on an area of the Otter Tail River just east of Breckenridge…
Ice jams can cause river levels to climb 3 to 4 feet in a short period of time, and cause flooding in a short period of time.
